Items that are regularly collected at the Material Recovery Center can also be brought to this event.  They include:

Lead acid batteries

There will be another collection day on May 9th at the NC Extension office located on Raccoon Road Waynesville to accept only pesticides.

Medications and pharmaceutical can be disposed of at year around collection sites located at each of the Police Departments and Sheriff’s Office.

“This event is a great and free way to dispose of these materials’” stated Haywood County Recycling Coordinator, Zondra Kuykendall.  “If you have an item and are unsure if EcoFlo can accept it, please call our office at (828) 356-2138 before the event so we can verify”, she continued. “If they don’t collect the material, maybe we can help find a solution.”

This event is only for Haywood County residents. Please don’t bring or drop-off items prior to the event. Early drop-offs could incur fees and fines.
