As municipal elections approach, The Mountaineer will be hosting a candidate forum in Maggie Valley.  The forum will be held at Town Hall on Thursday, October 3rd at 6:30pm.  Candidates include Janet Banks and Mike Eveland, who both serve on the Town’s current Board of Aldermen and are both vying for Mayor.  Those seeking Aldermen positions include Allen Alsbrooks, Tammy Wight and Alderman Phillip Wight.

The forum will be video taped and available through The Mountaineer.  The forum will also be shown on the Haywood County Government Access channel on both Charter Communications and Carolina Mountain Cablevision.

After opening remarks, each candidate will have one minute to respond to questions posed by a moderator.  Readers of The Mountaineer are invited to submit questions for consideration to be posed at the forum.  Send question suggestions to news@themountaineer.com.
