Job Vacancy: Finance Director The Town of Maggie Valley is currently accepting applications for the full-time position of Finance Director. The Town of Maggie Valley is seeking a technology savvy individual with strong interpersonal skills and financial competency to be our new Finance Director. Working as a key member of the Town’s leadership team, the Finance Director must be able to effectively manage the financial resources of the Town. Overseeing an annual operating budget exceeding four million, the Finance Director is responsible for accounting, debt administration, cash management, payroll, purchasing, and tax collection, as well as overseeing a $7+ million investment portfolio and a fund balance approaching 140%. Maggie Valley Town Hall Offices will be closed on Monday January 16, 2023 in observation of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. We will reopen on Tuesday morning at 8am. Garbage and recycle pick-up will run on the regular schedule. Please put your brown trash toter out on Monday by 7am and the blue recycle toter out on Tuesday by 7am.

Our community gets its name from Maggie Mae Setzer. Her father, John “Jack” Sidney Setzer founded the area’s first post office and it was named after one of his daughters. Each summer, Setzer descendants come from all over the country for a large family reunion in the historic valley.
