Town Manager

The Town of Maggie Valley adopted the Council-Manager form of government in 1986. In accordance with this style of government, the Town Manager acts as the Town’s Chief Executive and Operating Official per North Carolina General Statute 160A-148.  Serving at the pleasure of the Town Board of Aldermen, he or she is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Town, oversight of the five municipal departments and 24 full-time employees. In addition to responsibility of daily operations, the Manager coordinates the development and implementation of local policies and ordinances; interfaces with citizens and other government agencies; and develops the annual municipal budget.

The Town Clerk’s Office serves as a direct link between citizens of the community and their government. Finance and Taxation

The Finance Department works to develop fiscal policies that ensure a financially strong and effective Town government and responsibly manage and supervise the overall financial position of the Town, while providing timely, accurate, clear and complete information and support to other departments, elected officials and citizens.

Throughout the spring, summer and fall, the Town’s Festival Grounds are the hosting point for an array of events ranging from arts and crafts festivals to motorcycle rallies.
