Labor Day Holiday Schedule 2024

Town of Maggie Valley Labor Day Holiday Schedule 2024 Labor Day Holiday will be observed on Monday, September 2nd. Town Hall offices will be closed on September 2nd.  Offices will open on regular schedule Tuesday, September 3rd at 8am. Garbage Service will be on Tuesday, September 3rd.  Please place your brown toter out by 7am on Tuesday. Recycling Service will be on Wednesday, September 4th.  Please place your blue toter out by 7am on Wednesday. Have a Safe and Happy Labor Day!

Haywood Waterways Big Sweep Clean up

Haywood Water Water  – Big Sweep September 14th, 2024 Big Sweep is an annual County-wide cleanup event that removes tons of trash from local waterways and roadways.  Volunteers should be prepared to work in the sun, get a little dirty, and possibly wet. Please wear closed-toed shoes, long pants, and bring plenty of water. Trash bags, grabbers, and gloves will be provided.  Volunteers will meet at the town hall (3987 Soco Road) at 9:00 am. Cleanup time, about an hour and a half.  Please RSVP by Sept. 12th to Christine O’Brien at christine@Haywoodwaterways.org or 828-476-4667, ext. 2024 Backyard 4th Celebration – Fireworks at Dark!

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] Bring your family and friends and come to the Town of Maggie Valley’s Backyard 4th Celebration on Thursday July 4th at the Festival Grounds!  Gates open at 6pm. Bring lawn chairs, blankets, picnic baskets, coolers, yard games and music. The Maggie Valley Police Association will sell BBQ meals for $10. They will also have drinks, chips and cookies for sale. Pavilion Addition

The Town Hall is busy these days with a new covered addition being built in front of the Maggie Valley Community Pavilion. The Public Works Department is busy putting new picnic tables together to be placed under the new addition. All of this was made possible with grant funding from The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina Enhancement Grant Program. Thank you, Alderman Wise, for applying for the funding.

Proposed Fiscal Year 2024/2025 Budget

The Proposed Fiscal Year 2024/2025 Budget for the Town of Maggie Valley has been presented to the Board of Aldermen and is available for public inspection at the Town Hall from 8am to 5pm weekdays.  View the Proposed FY 2024/25 Budget Presentation here.  View the Proposed Sewer and Solid Waste Fees here and the Proposed Planning and Zoning Fee Schedule here.  View Proposed Administrative Fees here.  The Maggie Valley Board of Aldermen will hold a Public Hearing on the Proposed Budget on June 20, 2024 at 6:30pm at the Town Hall, for the purpose of receiving comments on the proposed budget. Persons wishing to be heard are invited to make written or oral comments.
