Notice of Discharge of Untreated Sewage
The Town of Maggie Valley had a discharge of untreated wastewater from our collection system located on the Hwy 276 bridge below the Farmers Co-op of approximately 86,000 gallons. The discharge occurred on April 6, 2025, for approximately 7 hours. The untreated wastewater entered Jonathan Creek in the French River Basin. The damaged section is being pumped around to prevent further discharge. This notice was required by North Carolina General Statutes Article 21, Chapter 143.215C. Public Take Notice:
The Town of Maggie Valley Board of Aldermen will conduct a Public Hearing May 13, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. in the Town Hall Boardroom, located at 3987 Soco Road, Maggie Valley, NC. The purpose of the hearing is to consider the following:
Amendment to the Unified Development Ordinance Section 161 Flood Damage Prevention. This amendment provides updates to the current Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance adopted by the Town of Maggie Valley.
